If you've been watching any of this week's Summer Game Fest-adjacent showcases, and have been brave enough to keep the live chat open, you'll have noticed a lot of people spamming words along the lines of "We want Destiny 3" or even, more simply, just "Destiny 3."
This comes in protest of the recent news that Bungie, now owned by PlayStation, didn't want to begin work on a third title in the Destiny series because "it would cost too much," and with Marathon struggling to find an audience as strong, Destiny fans have taken it personally.
Given that the Xbox Games Showcase is hosted by Microsoft, PlayStation's big rivals in the console game, you'd have been forgiven for thinking the Destiny 3 spamming may have stopped. You would, however, be mistaken. Just minutes before the showcase was set to begin, amongst the people after my heart begging for Persona 6, dozens, if not hundreds, of viewers were, once again, calling for Destiny 3.
Destiny fans are desperate for a Destiny 3. They've made petitions with more signatures than Marathon has players and have returned to Destiny 2 in their droves, as Bungie plans to leave it behind.
