Wolf Among Us 2 Will Probably Release All At Once Because We Live In A "Netflix Era"

It's been a long, long time since The Wolf Among Us 2 was first announced in 2019, and even longer since we first got to play as Bigby Wolf in 2013.

After the closure and subsequent revival of Telltale Games, The Wolf Among Us 2 was re-revealed at this year's Summer Game Fest with a tentative release window of early 2027.

The original Wolf Among Us was released episodically to mirror the game's television-style presentation, but, with the advent of streaming, television has changed significantly since the early 2010s.

In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Telltale CEO Jamie Ottilie was asked if The Wolf Among Us 2 would adopt episodic releases, a cadence pioneered by the first game.

"Publishing-wise, defending multiple release dates... We would probably approach it like the modern streaming model, where you drop all the episodes at the same time," Otillie explained. "We live in a Netflix era. People can't wait. We should probably give the people what they want all in one go."

Though the studio enjoys episodic releases "philosophically," the climate isn't really there anymore for that type of publishing approach. All in all, Otillie seems to be implying that The Wolf...
