Halo Remake Trailer's PS5 Pro Message Fuels Rumors It Was Pulled From State Of Play

Xbox just released another trailer for Halo: Campaign Evolved. This one is different from the trailer that debuted during Sunday's Xbox Showcase, and a message confirming the footage was captured on a PS5 Pro has fueled rumors that the cinematic was originally slated to be a part of last week's State of Play.

It still feels weird to see a Halo trailer with a message confirming the game is being played on a PlayStation, let alone the logos at the end confirming the remake is still coming to PS5 despite Xbox's sudden shift back to exclusivity. It was almost certainly too late for Xbox to back out of putting Campaign Evolved on PS5, but it's starting to sound like Asha Sharma and her team have managed to upset PlayStation anyway.

The Game Business's Christopher Dring noted that there was supposed to be an Xbox presence during the State of Play. However, Xbox changed its mind, pulling its trailer and, understandably, upsetting PlayStation in the process. Dring didn't comment on what that game was, but the belief that it was probably Halo has been strengthened by the latest trailer.
