One of the biggest surprises of today's big Nintendo Direct was the announcement of Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, which includes games like basketball, skateboarding, golf, and more.
As if the last week in gaming news hasn't been busy enough, thanks to PlayStation's packed triple-A-led showcase, Summer Game Fest's surprisingly excellent slew of announcements, and Xbox's strong, Spyro-reviving event, Nintendo decided that none of us deserved a break and announced a Direct out of nowhere. And with a Treehouse to follow, it seemed like a big one.
Before the Direct kicked off, we didn't know anything concrete about what Nintendo planned to show, but there some obvious choices like The Duskbloods and riskier ones like the Zelda remake that leaked a few months ago. One of the nicest surprises was a sequel to Nintendo Switch Sports which, fittingly, is called Nintendo Switch Sports Resort.
Following the announcement of a new Xenoblade game, Nintendo brought out the real big guns with Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, which continues the series tradition of the second game taking place on a resort.
