Kingdom Hearts 3 Won't Be Playable On The Original Nintendo Switch After 2027

Earlier today, Nintendo blew the minds of every single Kingdom Hearts fan on the planet by giving us an extended look at Kingdom Hearts 4, complete with gameplay. Many were on cloud nine, and a lot of people probably still are, but thanks to being a fanbase that lives and dies in tragedy, Square Enix really couldn't let them bask in happiness for too long.

Shortly after the Nintendo Direct finished, Square Enix released a statement announcing that the cloud versions of the Kingdom Hearts series on Nintendo Switch are being discontinued immediately, meaning they're no longer available to purchase. On top of that, they're also going to be completely shut down on June 9, 2027, leaving them unplayable.

Now, there's good news and bad news to this, and admittedly more of the latter. The good news is that Nintendo literally just announced Switch 2 ports for the entire Kingdom Hearts series, as well as proper versions of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 and 2.5 for the original Switch.

Unfortunately, it doesn't appear as though an OG Switch version of Kingdom Hearts 3 is coming though, so that means that the game will just become literally unplayable on that system once the...
