Nintendo Adds Another Game To Its Growing Suite Of $80 Titles

Nintendo attempted to push the industry standard for big-budget triple-A games to $80 when it released the Switch 2. So far, it's the only studio to have pulled it off, though it might be asking a bit much to charge $80 for Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave.

Fortune's Weave finally got its release date during Tuesday's Direct, as Nintendo threw it into the already massive pile of titles slated to launch this September. As if going up against countless other games won't be hard enough for the new Fire Emblem game, Nintendo has also confirmed its physical version costs $79.99.

Nintendo confirmed earlier this year that there will be a price difference between physical and digital versions of its first-party games moving forward. The confirmation was framed as a price drop for digital games rather than a price hike for physical ones, which, if still true, suggests Fortune's Weave would have been $80 both physically and digitally had Nintendo not introduced the new pricing system.
