Earlier this week, Square Enix announced an ambitious new Final Fantasy game called Final Fantasy Resonance, the first ever HD-2D game in the series. It looked mightily impressive, becoming one of the more popular reveals at the show, and then it was revealed that the game is actually a retelling of the now defunct mobile Final Fantasy game, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius.
If you add that to the already released Octopath Traveler 0, that's two dead mobile games that Square Enix has decided to give a new lease on life by remaking them for consoles. Of course, the scope of both games is different, but if Square Enix is diving into its rather large bag of defunct mobile games, then we could see some rather interesting games announced in the future.
