If you happened to be watching the opening ceremonies for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, you might've noticed a familiar character carrying the Olympic torch. They were dressed like an Assassin from Assassin's Creed and did parkour just like an Assassin. So was it actually an Assassin from Assassin's Creed?

If you think otherwise, you probably didn’t play the games.

Yes. More specifically, it was Assassin's Creed Unity's Arno Dorian.

In the leadup to the opening ceremonies, an Assassin's Creed fan account shared on Twitter concepts for a potential Assassin appearance. Those concepts showcased the Assassin performing parkour all throughout the landmarks of Paris whilst holding the iconic torch.

Then, on the morning of the opening ceremonies, Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Twitter account told fans to keep an eye on the rooftops because Arno might be watching.

Ubisoft's own Twitter account added to the speculation when it tweeted a separate picture of Arno ahead of the ceremony.

And when the Assassin finally made an appearance, Ubisoft responded:

So, no, you were not mistaken. It was Arno at the Olympics. That said, many are wondering just why at the Olympics of all places was Assassin's Creed included.
