Overwatch's New "Human Omnic" Character Has Sparked Some Heated Debates

Overwatch's latest hero, Shion, was revealed earlier this week. Her design is like nothing we've seen before in Overwatch, giving us a new Omnic character, but one with a much more humanoid design.

Now, that design is dividing fans. While some see her as a breath of cyberpunk-esque fresh air for the series, others think that the design is ridiculous for a feminine Omnic. After all, this is a much more human-like look than Zenyatta, Orisa, or Ramattra got, and to some, that's just uninspired.

"Shion so has one of the best designs I think I’ve seen in Overwatch. She looks so freaking cool, it’s insane," says Reddit user Vellum25.

However, others in the thread feel differently. "I’ve seen this design in so many gacha mobile game ads," sectionedfence argues. Others agree that it is "generic", even if it's unique in Overwatch.

On the whole, it seems that fans like the idea of an Omnic who has a face plate that is solely used for emoting, with their voice coming from their neck. It's neat! It's just quite telling that she also has plump lips and pristine eyeliner. I'm seeing more than a few fans compare it...
