Japanese Gamers Vote Chrono Trigger As The Most Requested Remake, But A New Game Is Less Desired

In a recent poll that was put together by Famitsu, Japanese gamers voted Chrono Trigger as the game that they most want to see a remake or remaster of, with a new entry in the series being slightly less desired.

If you ask someone what the greatest RPG of all time is, there's a very good chance that, as long as they don't say something like Final Fantasy 7 or any of the Dragon Quest games, they'll point to Chrono Trigger. Square's beloved 1995 RPG is often regarded as a timeless classic of the genre, and something that fans really want to see make a return.

Strangely, outside of some ports to consoles like the DS and PC, Chrono Trigger is one of the few highly-requested classic games that has yet to return, and only saw an unrelated sequel in 1999 called Chrono Cross. All these years later, everyone's still begging for a Chrono Trigger remake, which makes its placement in a recent poll very unsurprising.
