Behaviour Interactive has revealed that a Zombie Mode is in development for Dead by Daylight as part of a broader push to expand the game's gameplay offerings over the coming years.
The announcement came during the game's tenth anniversary event in Montreal, where developers outlined several major initiatives planned for the future of the long-running horror multiplayer title. Among them was an early look at Zombie Mode, alongside another upcoming addition known as 1v1 Mode.
Unlike Dead by Daylight's traditional gameplay, Zombie Mode pits four Survivors against a Killer whose goal isn't simply to sacrifice them to The Entity. Instead, the Killer must infect every Survivor and transform them into zombies using their powers. Survivors, meanwhile, will be armed with vaccines that can be used to cure infected teammates before the infection spreads.
Behaviour shared only a handful of details about the mode, but the concept already sounds like a significant departure from the game's standard Trials.
