Ghost of Yotei's success is undeniable. Despite an attempted (and failed) boycott, the game was only outsold by Madden and College Football on the PS5 last year, and in its early months, it comfortably outpaced its predecessor, Ghost of Tsushima.
We've now got a more well-rounded look at its sales numbers, thanks to Alinea Analytics, and compared to other PlayStation first-party titles released in the last 12 months, it has flown off shelves.
According to a new report from Alinea Analytics, Ghost of Yotei has now sold 4.8 million units, generating almost $350 million in revenue for PlayStation. It reports that the average playtime is around 47.7 hours, with seven percent of players clocking more than 100 hours.
The report suggests the game has generated nearly as much revenue from copies sold on PS5 as Assassin's Creed Shadows did on PS5, Xbox, and Steam, and that game launched more than six months earlier.
Comparing it to other PlayStation exclusives released over the last 12 months really shows just how much Yotei has shone.
