Wuthering Waves' crossover with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners has been a hit, letting players explore Night City as Lucy and Rebecca. Centring on the fallout of the Edgerunners anime, it's a bittersweet experience for fans - especially if you were hoping Lucy and David would get a happy ending.
So, it's no surprise that many of these fans are hoping that the events we see in Wuthering Waves are canon. More specifically, they were hoping for a scene that shows Lucy and David reuniting to be something of a new ending for the characters, undoing their tragic end in Edgerunners. However, despite claims to the contrary, this is not the case, as Edgerunners' writer sets the record straight.
Bartosz Sztybor replied to a post claiming that he had canonised Lucy and David's reunion in Wuthering Waves. "Nope," he says. "Never confirmed that."
Now, some fans are taking this to mean that he isn't unconfirming it either, since it might not even be up to him, considering how many writers have a hand in the Cyberpunk series. With that said, it's clear that we shouldn't take his posts about the event as confirmation that this is all canon to the wider Cyberpunk series....
