Don't Worry, Fable's Blacksmithing Won't Be As Lucrative As It Looked In The Gameplay Demo

Fable's developers have confirmed that the ridiculous amount of gold earned for blacksmithing in the recent gameplay demo was just for the purposes of the demo, and that you'll actually need to "put some shifts in".

Although the confirmation of a delay to avoid the big GTA-sized elephant in the room was a bit gutting, the last two weeks have been packed with enough good Fable news to nearly make up for it. Not only did we get a new release date in a big trailer shown at the Xbox Games Showcase, but Playground Games also shared a lengthy gameplay demonstration.

That gameplay video focused on Fable's simulation elements, from trying to woo a shopkeeper to making friends and hiring them for your business. We also got our best look yet at the return of Fable's best minigame, blacksmithing, although it ended up confusing a lot of players due to how lucrative it was. Don't worry, though, as the developers have confirmed this was just for the demo.
