Destiny 2 Is Still In The Top 15 Most-Played Steam Games, But It Hasn't Changed Anything

The Light faded on Destiny 2 when Bungie rolled out the final update earlier this month. And with no sequel or spin-offs being greenlit, the series is now frozen in Stasis. But fans are determined to reverse course. Every single showcase during Summer Game Fest was inundated with calls for Destiny 3, while the game hit an impressive peak of 160,000 players on June 10 — and continues to cling onto Steam's top 15 most-played games.

Players have one message for Sony: Destiny isn't dead. Interest waned over the last year with middling content drop after middling content drop, sure, but fans want the game to get better, and are now clamoring for a sequel to revitalize the franchise. We're not just seeing petitions passed around; we're seeing a game actively brought back to life. Unfortunately, it's not making a difference.
