It has been 35 years since the release of Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Genesis, a sentence that makes me feel incredibly old. To mark the occasion, Sega is holding a birthday livestream for the blue blur during which it will announce everything it has planned for Sonic in the immediate future. From upcoming games to quirky crossovers, below you'll find everything that was revealed during Sonic's Birthday Livestream.

The livestream opened with an incredible montage that showed footage from just about every Sonic game ever, but that wasn't the best part. The best part was the song scoring it - an all-new Sonic song from the iconic Crush 40. It's called Speed Is My Life, and if you missed the stream, you can check out the track along with the montage above.

The first big announcement of the stream was confirmation that the Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition is real and available on Switch 2 right now. The presenters played into the joke that everyone kind of knows about this already, as physical copies of the game found their way out into the wild early.
