GTA 6 is a pretty special game. We've not seen much of it at the moment, but even before we found out how much we'd be spending on the base game, people were declaring that they'd pay whatever Rockstar and Take-Two wanted them to because the experience would be worth it. There isn't much that will put off the GTA 6 fanbase at large, and a dodgy physical won't really either.
That's according to video game industry analysts that have been reacting to the news that GTA 6 won't have a standard physical edition. While a plastic box will be sold on store shelves like your ordinary game, it will be missing a disc, and a code for a digital download of the game will be in its place.
It's caused a bit of upset online, especially among collectors and those interested in video game preservation, and even a couple of video game retailers have announced they won't be stocking the game until a proper physical release happens. It's nice to see a pushback, but unfortunately, it probably won't make a dent in the GTA 6 hype.
