After months (if not years) of speculation, it's confirmed that Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto VI will be joining a handful of AAA games establishing a new price point at $80 for AAA games. It joins the likes of Mario Kart World in setting this upper bar for base versions of major games, this time for PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Pre-orders for the sequel to the incredibly well selling Grand Theft Auto V will begin on June 25th for consoles, with no mention of a PC release at this time, though one presumes that it will come down the line like with past RockStar releases. If you are buying physical versions of Grand Theft Auto VI, you'll be able to buy it starting on November 12th - but don't expect that to let you get into the game early. Physical versions of GTA VI will not come with a disc of any sort (especially not the two discs of Red Dead Redemption 2), and instead will include a download code which will allow you to start pre-loading like digital pre-orders on November 12th for the release on the 19th.
