Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 just broke its record player count on Steam by a factor of 12. Not even the good one that everyone loves from 2009, but the 2022 version that people weren't all that bothered by.
Its Steam numbers reflect that, too. Not only did the game struggle to reach 4,000 concurrent players according to SteamDB, but only 42 percent of those who have reviewed the game on PC had anything positive to say about it. That's why it was pretty shocking to see more than 42,000 of you playing it on Steam on Sunday, a number that has been more or less sustained in the days since.
Even though 42,000 is where Modern Warfare 2 topped out, its concurrent peak has easily sailed past 30,000 players on Monday, Tuesday, and now today, with the 30k mark having been broken for the fifth consecutive day. It's difficult to get exact numbers, but that's definitely more than Black Ops 7's current player count.
You can't get exact player counts for the more modern Call of Duty games through SteamDB since the site can only track how many people are using the CoD launcher. That accounts...
