Scooby-Doo Actor Hints at New Project in Development

Matthew Lillard, the longtime voice of Norville "Shaggy" Rogers, is hinting that a new Scooby-Doo project is in development, and it isn’t a movie or cartoon. Lillard first played Mystery Inc.’s resident comic relief figure in the live-action Scooby-Doo films of the early 2000s, and he would go on to voice Shaggy in virtually all animated Scooby-Doo media after the late Casey Kasem retired from acting in 2009.

This includes numerous Scooby-Doo video games and crossover appearances, with Matthew Lillard’s most recent interactive Shaggy performance being in the Warner Bros. platforming brawler MultiVersus. Even before Lillard took up the role of Scooby’s best friend on a full-time basis, the lovable canine with a hunger for mystery had several licensed video games under his collar stretching back to the days of Mattel’s Intellevision. However, most of these titles were poorly regarded and easily forgotten, with only a handful like 2002’s Scooby-Doo: Night of 100 Frights gaining cult status among fans.
