Just Like Final Fantasy X, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced's Facial Animations Are Under Fire

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is mostly going down well. Pretty much everyone agrees it looks better than ever, and fans are loving the trip down memory lane. The only problem is that, as a remake of one of the most beloved entries in the series, it will be compared to the original constantly - and there's one area where many feel that it falls short.

Fans are comparing the cutscenes between both versions of Black Flag, and while Resynced wins in the visual department, there's something a little off about its character animations. In fact, when you watch them back to back, it's clear that characters are far less emotive in the new release, and in some cases, it's like they're not emoting at all.

This issue was raised by Reddit user Jiehfeng, and many agree that the cutscenes aren't as expressive as they used to be. One user says that having better character models with less emotion creates a very "uncanny" effect.
