It was not that long ago that we were putting PlayStation on blast for bringing Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls to PC through Steam while also blocking purchases in 132 countries, seemingly due to the PlayStation Network requirement. You can hear our thoughts about that on this episode of Spectator Mode Podcast.
Since then, I have continued checking the game’s SteamDB history to see whether PlayStation would change course. Thankfully, there has finally been some positive movement.
According to a SteamDB update made on July 9, 2026, PlayStation has removed several countries from the game’s purchase restriction list. This includes the Dominican Republic and the Philippines, two countries that I previously mentioned because of their strong involvement in the fighting game community. Their inclusion on the restricted list never made much sense to me in the first place.
