Bandai Namco may be preparing to shut down an ongoing game from a beloved anime franchise, with Dragon Ball: The Breakers potentially on the way out. Dragon Ball: The Breakers debuted to mixed reception in 2022 as an asymmetrical multiplayer game based on the fan-favorite series.

Dragon Ball has spanned a wide variety of games and genres since the series rose to popularity in the 1990s. Fighting games have been a staple of the beloved franchise, between 2D side-scrolling fighters like Dragon Ball FighterZ and 3D fighters like the Budokai Tenkaichi games. The series has often experimented with RPGs as well, such as the Legacy of Goku games on the Game Boy Advance and Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot following the story of the anime. Now, a unique game in the Dragon Ball franchise may not have much longer, as Bandai Namco could be getting ready to discontinue the game.
