Shortly after the World Championships, The Pokemon Company has announced fundamental changes will be coming to the VGC's Regulation H.
In a post on its website, The Pokemon Company confirmed the new ruleset for the upcoming regulation H, which runs between Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. PDT to Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 3:59 p.m. PST.
While shake-ups are common during each regulation change, the company has announced something it has rarely done: it will restrict a huge number of Pokemon from battle, including every single Legendary Pokemon and every Paradox Pokemon. Previously, one "restricted Pokemon," which typically included Legendaries, was allowed.
It has been confirmed that regional Pokemon from the Hisui and Galar regions can be used, but outside of that there has been a major cull of some of the game's most popular, most powerful creatures.
