Things really have been so quiet on the Fallout front for such a long time that it really was a bit of a surprise when Bethesda came out with their lengthy statement on current projects last week (July 17). In it, the developer confirmed that they have several projects under development, including remasters of Fallout 3 and New Vegas, as well as the new collaboration with Obsidian Entertainment.
They also reaffirmed that Fallout 5 is also still very much on the table, though it is their "long-range destination," for the time being. In the meantime, there are plenty of forces acting outside the control of Bethesda themselves that could easily end up having a long-term effect on the franchise, and we just got an interesting update on one of the biggest.
