August 25 Will be a Big Day for The Witcher 3 Fans

The Witcher 3's upcoming Songs of the Past story expansion is officially getting its first trailer on August 25. Geoff Keighley, the well-known creator and host of both The Game Awards and Summer Game Fest, has just confirmed that The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past will be shown during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026.

Released all the way back in May 2015, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is widely considered to be one of the greatest video games of all time, with its overarching narrative, character relationships, side quests, and presentation still being heavily praised over a decade after launch. Another element that's greatly strengthened The Witcher 3's overwhelmingly positive legacy is its two story expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, two large-scale DLCs that added new quests, characters, and areas to the already expansive open-world RPG. Now, 11 years after release, The Witcher 3 is getting ready to receive one last story expansion.
