The ever-reliable Tom Warren of The Verge has reported that Obsidian Entertainment is preparing to announce a delay to Avowed until early 2025.
Obsidian's upcoming action RPG set in the Pillars of Eternity universe of Eora was planned to be released in the second half of 2024, but that may no longer be the case.
"I'm hearing that Obsidian is about to announce an Avowed delay to early 2025," The Verge reports. "I understand Avowed is in good shape, this is more a matter of wanting to give the game breathing room outside of a very busy period for Xbox Game Pass…"
The holiday period is indeed becoming busy for Game Pass, with games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl and Bethesda's Indiana Jones and the Great Circle all planned to release near the end of the year.
