Today was the day when Baldur’s Gate 3’s much-awaited Patch 7 — the Patch that meant is to introduce official modding tools — was meant to be released. But, due to “bug-fix whack-a-mole”, Larian Studios has made the decision to delay the Closed Beta for now. But all is not lost: the Closed Beta is still scheduled to launch “later this week”, making it one of the shortest delays we’ve seen in the gaming industry in some time.
What’s more, to make it up to us, Larian Studios has revealed what it considers to be the “highlights” of Patch 7. The list of just highlights is longer than the entire patch notes of many games, so we are fully expecting Patch 7 to — once again — be an absolute tome of changes, fixes, and new features.
And speaking of new features, the “highlights” revealed today really give us something to look forward to. The most exciting things coming (to us, at least) include an apparent slew of new “Evil Endings”, improved split-screen gameplay, and — most exciting — official mod tools.
