If there’s any game that needs and deserves a do-over most, perhaps aside from the Resident Evil 3 remake, it’s the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake. For many, this remake may seem like a fleeting memory, now that it’s been almost five years since it was originally announced during the September 2026 PlayStation Showcase. Basically, all we’ve heard about it in half a decade is bad news.
But the Star Wars: KOTOR remake is still in development, miraculously, and we have reason to believe that there’s been some encouraging momentum building in a galaxy far, far away. If so, it’s possible that we could see the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake again quite soon, perhaps with a much different look, and an official release not long after.
According to a leaker that goes by the X username 100% Star Wars, who has proven themselves to be quite reliable, the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake is planning to re-reveal itself this year, with the possibility of that reveal being delayed (though it has not yet been, apparently).
