Epic Games has committed itself to Fortnite: Battle Royale e-sports. The site has been updated with the news that the Summer Skirmish Series is set to kick off this coming weekend and that the 8-week tournament series will feature $8,000,000 in prize money throughout its course.
This weekend, players who have "demonstrated their competitive prowess" will be teamed up with community creators in a $250,000 tournament. The invitations have already been sent out to participating players, but Epic is promising that players will soon be informed how they can qualify for future events in the series.
