Around 20 LEGO sets themed after Nintendo games and properties are becoming forever unavailable after being retired from the official store next week. LEGO is releasing a massive wave of new sets on August 1, and while this is a good reason to celebrate for new and old fans alike, it also means that a lot of currently available sets are being retired. Accompanying every release wave is usually a retirement wave, with the "Retiring Soon" section of the LEGO website being filled to the brim with some great sets that won't come back once they're gone.
Many LEGO Pokemon sets will launch on August 1, 2026, alongside sets from other properties. These will likely be some of the most sought-after sets of the year so far, and the hype generated by these new releases may overshadow the fact that a lot of sets are being removed from the store. In fact, well over 100 sets are leaving the LEGO store next Friday, and about 1/6th of those are all Nintendo sets.
A big new Donkey Kong set leaks ahead of an official announcement from LEGO, and Nintendo fans should start saving quarters ahead of time.
