There's no doubt that both The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and its predecessor Breath of the Wild, were enormously successful for Nintendo and the franchise as a whole. The open-world approach was a genuinely exciting moment and step forward for the series, and there were more gameplay mechanics than ever before.
That said, we have most likely seen the end of that era as a whole, with the next game set to mark the first step in a new moment for the beloved series, whatever that ends up looking like. As is so often the case, however, it won't disappear into the night quietly, and the latest announcement connected to the franchise hasn't gone down universally well with fans.
As we reported several days ago, Hasbro recently confirmed a multi-year partnership with Nintendo to produce action figure and toys tied to The Legend of Zelda. They confirmed the first releases in that line at a recent presentation during San Diego Comic Con, and they are all drawn from Tears of the Kingdom.
