Halo is finally back in a big way, and by most accounts, players are having a great trip down memory lane playing Halo: Campaign Evolved. The game does a great job of updating the original release for a new generation, and it seems like the kind of watershed moment that could finally put the impetus back into a franchise that has been desperately craving some momentum.

The only element that feels noticeably missing at this juncture is the hectic multiplayer that has made the series so great over the years. While this was a deliberate and understandable choice in the case of Campaign Evolved, it hasn't tempered the desire for a new multiplayer experience set within the same framework.

Now, new information has emerged that suggests that could be on the way, and it might be everything we have ever dreamed of.
