Known Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier has commented on the intended November 19 release date of Grand Theft Auto 6, suggesting it is on track with only a small chance of any further delays. Many fans may understandably be concerned because, while Take-Two previously said marketing would begin this summer, nothing has effectively happened since GTA 6 opened pre-orders.
That said, there might be a strategic reason that GTA 6 is quiet right now (beyond the fact that the hype cycle can sustain itself). GTA 6 caught flak online for having no physical disc when picking up the game, and some see it as a progenitor, right or wrong, of PlayStation's decision to end disc production as of January 2028. Any marketing right now is going to get lambasted on social media over this, even GTA 6, so perhaps Rockstar has decided to push it off. Or perhaps that is unrelated, and GTA 6 marketing is going to plan as lackluster as it currently is.
