There’s just something unique about Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Released over a decade ago, it was actually my very first step into Ubisoft's iconic franchise, balancing pirate charm and exhilarating naval combat in a way that felt truly special for its time.
So when the publisher decided to revisit that classic open-sea magic with Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, players were naturally eager to dive back in – but even the developers themselves seem caught off guard by just how desperately fans wanted that classic experience back.
A Historic Launch on PC and Beyond
According to Ubisoft’s latest financial report, Black Flag Resynced has officially moved a staggering 3.5 million units in its first 14 days on the market. In doing so, the title obliterated the publisher’s internal sales projections for the entire first year in just two short weeks, which is quite impressive.
Developed by Vantage Studios and released in early July, the project has turned out to be an immediate commercial juggernaut. CEO Yves Guillemot even highlighted the launch as an encouraging proof point for Ubisoft’s ongoing corporate restructuring, noting that the remake has already become the highest-rated Assassin’s Creed game since the original 2013 release!...
