Blizzard surprised World of Warcraft fans and revealed that the viral sensation Jimothy the raccoon would be added to the game as a companion pet in a future content update. The news came as World of Warcraft prepared to launch Patch 12.1, dubbed Curse of Ula'tek.

For those unaware, Jimothy is a wild raccoon who roams the streets of Seattle, Washington. Jimothy got his name via an Instagram video by Seattle resident Kiara Hill taken on July 14, who caught the raccoon running in the grass before scuttling up some stairs. Since the video went viral, Jimothy has become an Internet sensation overnight, with the City of Seattle planning an official proclamation on Sunday, July 26.
