Jimothy got his name via an Instagram video by Seattle resident Kiara Hill taken on July 14, who caught the raccoon running in the grass before scuttling up some stairs. Since the video went viral, Jimothy has become an Internet sensation overnight, with the City of Seattle planning an official proclamation on Sunday, July 26.
