New RPG on Steam is The Elder Scrolls Meets Elden Ring

The open-world RPG genre has been dominated by massive adventures that let players step into dangerous fantasy worlds, create their own stories, and decide how they want to survive. From The Elder Scrolls giving players endless freedom to Elden Ring rewarding curiosity and exploration, there has always been an audience looking for games that make the journey itself the biggest part of the experience. Now, a new indie RPG on Steam is looking to capture that same feeling with a scaled-down version of games like The Elder Scrolls and Elden Ring.

Over the last few years, indie RPGs have started filling the gap as players wait years for The Elder Scrolls 6 or FromSoftware's next fantasy world (of course, that wait hasn't been as long as TES6). Games like Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon have shown that smaller studios can still create huge worlds where every nook and cranny is worth exploring. That same approach appears to be at the heart of AetherCycle, developed by Deep Interactive, as it packages grandiose worlds into a smaller, but no less dense package when it launches on Steam in November 2026.
