AC Unity Sees Player Boost After Arno's Appearance At Olympics

Assassin's Creed Unity, Ubisoft's 2014 entry in the franchise, is firmly back in the gaming spotlight, nearly a decade after its launch. That's because during the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics, Unity's protagonist, Arno Dorian, made an appearance as part of a larger display of all things French culture.

Celebrate the Olympic Games by playing one of Ubisoft's most underappreciated.

Arno's appearance was originally a rumor ahead of the ceremony, then a tease during the ceremony by both the official Assassin's Creed and Ubisoft Twitter accounts, before finally coming to life via a parkour specialist dressed as a titular assassin. And for those wondering why Assassin's Creed, and more specifically Unity, was a focal point of the Olympics, then know that Ubisoft is a French-based company, and Unity's story takes place during the French Revolution.

That said, with Arno firmly in the minds of gamers once again, Unity is seeing a serious spike in popularity. And for good reason, it is certainly the most under-appreciated Assassin's Creed title and one that is well worth playing, especially if you're not too keen on the series' new action-RPG stylings.
