Marvel video games are in a rut right now, and, without waxing too nostalgic, it’s mainly disappointing how few ensemble titles have been explored lately, especially when so many sensational Marvel games used to be churned out. Spider-Man games have always been popular, for instance, but there are a handful of great Marvel ensemble games that were shelved and deserve to be revisited.

There’d surely be a niche audience who’d love to see a successor to Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects’ stylistic fighting game, for example, but there’s one franchise that few fans would say no to a new installment from: Marvel Ultimate Alliance. The first Marvel Ultimate Alliance game is hailed as one of the best Marvel superhero games ever, if not the undisputed best, and enough time has passed that fans are once again hoping for another new entry in the series.
