Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 has just been given an official release date of August 25, 2026, meaning its launch is less than a month away. Like its predecessor, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 will be a co-op third-person shooter that will see players suit up as Colonial Marines and face off against countless waves of Xenomorphs.
Released in August 2021, Aliens: Fireteam Elite received very mixed reviews, at least initially. On OpenCritic, the first Aliens: Fireteam Elite has a Top Critic Average of 68, and a recommendation score of just 34%. GameRant's own Joshua Duckworth scored Aliens: Fireteam Elite a 3/10 in his review, calling the co-op shooter "a bug-filled slog that proves to be a one-trick pony." Despite this mixed critical reception, rumors of an Aliens: Fireteam Elite sequel surfaced in 2024, and in October 2025 the game received an official ESRB rating. Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 was finally announced in May 2026.
