Pokemon has had plenty of spinoffs over the years, but you'll struggle to find any more beloved than the Mystery Dungeon series. Alongside offering a unique Pokemon experience in the form of a dungeon crawler, the series often has the best personifications of Pokemon in general, telling great stories and giving them more unique personalities than just being glorified animals that say their own names a lot.

It all began with Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, a peak that developer Spike Chunsoft has struggled to match with later titles, only really getting there with Explorers of Sky. Unfortunately, the best way to experience Red Rescue Team (we don't count the remake) was on very old hardware, but that's no longer the case, as Nintendo has announced that the title is coming to Nintendo Switch Online later this month.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team will officially hit the service next week on August 9, though you'll need to make sure you're a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack member to actually be able to play it. The standard version only allows you to play NES and Game Boy games, while the expanded version throws Nintendo 64 and Game Boy...
