Nintendo Switch 2 users haven't yet had a chance to play 007 First Light, James Bond's long-awaited return to gaming. 007's latest globe-trotting adventure is an excellent new origin story for the iconic character, and while developer IO Interactive is hard at work on 007 First Light's post-launch support, there hasn't yet been official word on when the game will come to the Switch 2. A retailer may have preemptively spoiled the release date announcement, though.

007 First Light's listing on Amazon Japan has a release date of September 16, 2026, for its Nintendo Switch 2 version. This would be less than four months after the game's initial release date in May—a relatively quick turnaround considering how long the Switch console family has had to wait for other belated ports. It's possible that this is merely a placeholder date, as retailers are known to do, but a placeholder right in the middle of the month seems odd.
