Ever since Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales sailed into theaters back in 2017, fans have been left wondering when Disney will finally bring the beloved swashbuckling franchise back to the big screen. While the long-awaited sixth installment remains in development, one of the biggest unanswered questions has nothing to do with Captain Jack Sparrow or the future of the Black Pearl, but instead with the fate of Davy Jones.

Widely regarded as one of Disney's greatest villains, the cursed captain of the Flying Dutchman appeared to meet his end in At World's End, only for the fifth film's post-credits scene to tease his shocking return nearly a decade later. Since then, however, Disney has remained silent on whether that cliffhanger will actually be addressed in Pirates of the Caribbean 6.

With multiple scripts reportedly considered over the years and no official story details revealed, fans are still left speculating over Davy Jones' potential resurrection, but thanks to an upcoming release, they won't have to wait much longer to see the infamous villain again (via PCS).
