Well, this is certainly some fantastic news to wake up to. 505 Games has announced that it is reuniting with Xia Siyuan, the original creator of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, to develop a sequel to the Soulslike action RPG. Ironically, I kept contacting 505 Games to ask if they had any plans for the title since since they owned the IP, and they’d never answer me.
The new game will be developed by Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology Co., Ltd., better known as Indolphinity, a new Chinese development studio founded by Xia Siyuan, the original director of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. Under this agreement, Indolphinity will lead the creative development of the sequel, while 505 Games will fund and publish the game worldwide.
I really enjoyed the original Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, despite some of the issues the game had at launch. So, when I found out that the original development team had been disbanded, I was rather upset. It felt like we might never get another game that could build upon what the original did so well.
