There have been some incredible games to hit Steam this month, from the 1.0 launch of Palworld to Moss: The Forgotten Relic and the locomotive pro skater Denshattack. But the top-rated game of July isn't any of those: it's Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades.
Developed by Rust Ltd, the game launched into early access way back in 2016, and finally hit 1.0 earlier this month on July 4. For the unaware, it's a VR sandbox stuffed with "groan-worthy puns" and over 600 guns, set against the backdrop of Wiener's Weird World where "affable sentient meat" have taken over.
Throughout the last decade, Rust Ltd has added a sci-fi roguelike mode, a horde shooter where you must "discover the cause of the Rotwiener outbreak," a TF2 homage called Meat Fortress that was officially sanctioned by Valve, the Wurstwurld amusement park, the Meat Grinder fast food maze, and the Half-Life inspired Take & Hold, headlined by Welldone Freemeat and his trusty crowbar.
