It's been a massive year for Lord of the Rings fans already, with several huge announcements we've been waiting on for ages, such as the reveal of Warhorse Studios' upcoming Middle-Earth open-world RPG. The next months and years ahead are looking stacked when it comes to new releases, with Andy Serkis's The Hunt for Gollum on the way, Stephen Colbert's Shadow of the Past, and of course the upcoming launch of The Rings of Power Season 3.
While the fanbase is somewhat divided over many of these announcements, there's no question we're entering a new era for the franchise. That said, while Warhorse's new game is quite exciting for those who are familiar with the Kingdom Come: Deliverance franchise, it's still a long way off, and gamers don't have many options at the moment in terms of Lord of the Rings-based RPGs.
