Though Hideo Kojima has now entirely moved on from Metal Gear Solid, Sony are far from done with the franchise, and it's very easy to see why. The series remains one of the most consistently excellent in video game history, with every mainline single-player release scoring very well in the opinions of both fans and critics.
As such, abandoning it entirely because Kojima is no longer present doesn't really feel like a win for anyone, but there is an obvious reticence to work on a wholly new release. That leaves remakes and remasters as the best option for the time being, and a new trailer really shows fans what they can expect from the next drop.
Over on Reddit, one fan shared the brand-new trailer for The Snakes Saga, a story that "begins with Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, continues through Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and leads to Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots."
