Star Wars is coming to Dungeons and Dragons, Wizards of the Coast has announced. However, the publisher has revealed little beyond a tentative release window for what is shaping up to be the first official D&D expansion inspired by a galaxy far, far away.
Dungeons and Dragons is over half a century old as of mid-2026. During its first 52 years, the cult-classic tabletop franchise received roughly 1,200 official supplemental releases across all editions, including sourcebooks, campaign settings, boxed sets, accessories, and adventure modules. TSR, Inc. alone published more than 800 D&D titles before the Wizards of the Coast era formally began in 2000. Despite that extensive catalog, no official Star Wars expansion has yet used the DnD ruleset, although that is now destined to change soon enough.
Fans of Star Wars, Cowboy Bebop, or other epic space operas need to check out this new third-party Dungeons and Dragons project.
