With no Sims 5 in Sight, EA Has Plans for The Sims 4 Marketplace

The Sims 4 Marketplace will continue to evolve and receive new features, according to EAX Vice President Joseph Traverso in a post he made on LinkedIn. If EA is ready to keep pouring resources into The Sims 4, then it seems like The Sims 5 isn't going to be happening, as resources would likely be shifting to the development of that project in preparation for it to become the main entry, which has happened for every previous entry so far. Or if a new Sims base game is in development, it's not at a point where it can be released anytime soon.

While The Sims 4 is over a decade old at this point, it continues to receive new content in the form of features, such as new expansions and the Marketplace. However, if you want to purchase every piece of content in 2026, you're looking at a price tag that's well over $1,000. That's where the existence of the Marketplace and this decision to keep evolving it become a bit of a controversial topic in The Sims community.
