Zack Snyder's time with the DC Extended Universe, or simply the DCU as it is known now, was one filled with plenty of controversies, and more than one film that didn't hit the heights intended. That said, there was absolutely the sense that it could have been something special, and within the 15 movies released under that umbrella, there were some great themes.
The biggest projects of the bunch were always going to be the Superman adaptations and any time the Justice League got together, and so it proved to be, with Man of Steel serving as the movie that kicked that whole period off.
